What it is
CasePeer is case management software built for one kind of firm: the plaintiff personal injury practice. Instead of a general matter record with PI fields bolted on, the case file is organized around the PI lifecycle: intake, medical treatment tracking, medical records and bills requests, statute-of-limitations alerts, case expenses, settlement negotiations and the disbursement ledger. It was founded in 2015, bought by MyCase in 2021, and came along when AffiniPay acquired MyCase in 2022. AffiniPay renamed itself 8am in August 2025, and the product is now sold as 8am CasePeer, next to MyCase, Docketwise and LawPay. The category leader it most resembles is Filevine, but CasePeer is the one with a price on the website.
Why it shows up in Legal Ops stacks
- The PI AI vendors connect to it. CasePeer is one of the few case management systems with published connectors to both EvenUp and Supio. EvenUp reads case details, plaintiff information and documents through the CasePeer Partner API. Supio’s integration, documented in March 2026, pulls case data, medical records, bills and legal documents automatically. Both sync one way, from CasePeer to the AI tool. Filevine and Clio have neither connector, which is why the personal injury AI stack treats CasePeer as a spine that keeps the AI options open.
- The screens match the work. Treatment tracking, negotiation logs, case stages and a high-value cases report come standard, so a PI firm configures less than it would in Filevine or Litify.
- Payments come from the owner. LawPay is built in, so client payments and settlement funds post to the case without a third-party sync.
Pricing reality
casepeer.com/pricing, checked 2026-10-16, per user per month, billed monthly, no long-term contract and no setup fee:
- Basic: $90. Case, contact and task management, client portal, statute alerts, settlement negotiations, medical treatment tracking, expenses, client trust tracking, calendaring, unlimited document storage.
- Pro: $130. Adds client intake management, unlimited 2-way texting, case stage screens, litigation event plans, 50+ more reports, 20+ integrations and the 8am IQ AI features.
- Advanced: $160. Adds scheduled texts, data sync for reporting, multi-office reporting, an intake investigator portal, case grades and API access.
- Extras. E-signature is an add-on. Guided implementation and data migration are optional and quoted separately.
Capterra and CostBench still list $79 / $119 / $149, and CostBench last verified those prices on 2026-09-12. That means list prices rose 7-14% since mid-September. Budget off the live page. Most PI firms need Pro, because intake management and the 20+ integrations start there, and Advanced if they run multiple offices or want the API. Confirm in writing which tier the EvenUp and Supio connectors need. A five-person firm on Pro pays $7,800 a year. A 15-seat firm on Advanced pays $28,800 a year, before migration.
Best for
- Best for: managing partners and operations leads at plaintiff PI firms of roughly 3-40 users who want a PI-shaped case file at a published price, and who plan to buy EvenUp or Supio for demands and chronologies.
- Not for firms with meaningful non-PI practice (family, criminal and estate work fit MyCase better), mass-tort shops running thousands of templated matters, or anyone who wants AI agents or a Claude connector inside the case system today.
Versus the alternatives
- vs Filevine. The best-funded and fastest-growing platform in plaintiff case management, after raising $400M at an estimated $3B valuation in September 2025. It is quote-only, more configurable, and ships its own MedChron and DemandsAI. Pick Filevine for mass tort, heavy custom workflows or 50+ users; pick CasePeer when you want a fixed price and outside AI vendors.
- vs Litify. Built on Salesforce, roughly $150-300 per user per month all-in with a 3-6 month implementation. Pick Litify when the firm already runs Salesforce or needs an enterprise intake operation; at under 40 users CasePeer gets you live faster for less.
- vs MyCase. The same owner, at $50 / $100 / $130 billed annually. MyCase now has the Case Assistant and OCR on Advanced, plus a Claude MCP connector with 73 actions. Pick MyCase if PI is one practice among several.
- vs Clio. The overall market leader, but PI is not its default shape and neither EvenUp nor Supio publishes a Clio connector. Pick it only for a mixed-practice firm that wants research inside the matter.
Watch-outs
- The new AI went to MyCase, not CasePeer. At Kaleidoscope on 2026-09-23, 8am launched the MyCase MCP connector for Claude and announced the Firm Agent and IQ Draft, and LawNext reports those products are available only within MyCase. CasePeer’s 8am IQ is a writing and translation assistant. Guard: buy CasePeer for the case file and buy the AI from EvenUp, Supio or Eve; get any CasePeer AI roadmap in writing before you count on it.
- EvenUp only sees files stored inside CasePeer. Per CasePeer’s support center, EvenUp reads the Documents tab through the Partner API; files kept in Dropbox or OneDrive as default storage are invisible to it. Guard: decide where documents live before migration, and test one closed case end to end with your AI vendor during the trial.
- Prices just moved. The rise from $79 to $90 on Basic came with no published notice that we found. Guard: screenshot the pricing page on the day you sign, and ask for a locked rate in writing if you are buying 10+ seats.
- Reporting and customization limits. G2 reviewers cite limited customization and reporting, plus calendar and Dropbox sync problems. Guard: list your must-have reports before the demo and have the vendor build one live.
