What it is
Showpad is a sales enablement platform built for reps who sell in person: a governed content library, a native app that plays that content offline in front of a customer, trackable shares to buyers, and a readiness module (Coach) for training, certification and roleplay. The category leader it most resembles is Seismic, and the two cover the same ground: content, readiness, buyer engagement and analytics in one suite, which Showpad sells as Showpad eOS.
Ownership changed last year. Vector Capital, which bought the Australian enablement vendor Bigtincan in April 2025, completed its acquisition of Showpad on 2025-10-30 and merged the two under the Showpad brand. The combined company claims more than 2,000 customers in 50 countries, positions itself as a platform “for complex field-selling-centric organizations,” and is run by Apratim Purakayastha, previously general manager of talent development at Skillsoft. Founding CEO Hendrik Isebaert stepped down to an advisory role.
The AI layer is called Genie. The Summer ‘26 release on 2026-07-15 added Genie Agent Studio with six prebuilt agents (Outreach, Prospect Research, Competitive Intelligence, Product Comparison, RFP Response, Business Case), support for custom agents, Roleplay AI feedback in 35+ languages, and a Showpad MCP server with ready-made connections to Salesforce Agentforce, Microsoft Copilot and Glean.
The question this page answers: the Seismic–Highspot merger closed on 2026-08-18, and you are deciding whether to renew. Is Showpad a safe harbor, or just another platform mid-integration? Honest answer: both. Showpad is ten months into its own merger. It is still the only independently run enablement suite at this scale built around field selling.
Why it shows up in RevOps stacks
- Offline is a first-class mode, not a fallback. Reps download pages, collections and Coach courses to an iPad, iPhone or the Windows Desktop app and present without a connection. For reps in hospitals, plants and trade-show halls, that decides the deal.
- It works inside the CRM and sequencer you already run. Native integrations cover Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics and HubSpot, and reps can attach Showpad content inside Outreach and Salesloft steps. Gong, Marketo, SharePoint, Google Drive and Box are among 75+ prebuilt connectors, plus an open API.
- Content and readiness share one library. The deck a rep is certified on in Coach is the same governed asset they present, which is the practical argument for folding an LMS into enablement content rather than running both.
- Agents can reach the approved library. The MCP server serves content under the platform’s existing access controls, so an Agentforce or Copilot agent drafts from current collateral, not from whatever a rep pasted into a chat.
Pricing reality
Nothing is published. The pricing page lists three quote-only tiers: Professional (Genie Assistant, content management, readiness basics, buyer engagement, CRM and email integrations), Advanced (adds Roleplay AI, voice chat, knowledge certifications, sales-engagement integrations, developer bundle) and Expert (adds custom agents, the Field Seller Agent, Library, Search and Authoring AI, priority support), plus paid add-on packs such as Learn+ and Collaborate+.
Vendr’s buyer data puts the median annual contract at $34,875 across 33 purchases, with a range of $13,690 to $129,240 and average savings of 14.86% off the first quote. Third-party list estimates of $25 to $50 per user per month are not vendor-confirmed; treat them as a starting point only. Vendr also reports onboarding of $5,000 to $50,000+ in year one and multi-year terms landing 10 to 20% lower per year.
That median sits close to Seismic’s ($31,950 on Vendr) and at roughly twice Spekit’s ($16,308). Showpad does not win on price. It wins when offline field delivery is a hard requirement, and a smaller share of your reps need it.
Best for
Enablement and RevOps leaders at manufacturing, life-sciences, medtech and industrial companies with 50 or more field reps who present in person, often offline, from a heavy and regulated content library, and who want training and content governed in one place.
Do not buy it for an inside-sales team under about 50 reps working entirely in Salesforce and Outreach: you pay for field-selling depth you will not use. Do not buy it if your problem is reps finding the right answer mid-deal rather than presenting content; that is an in-workflow knowledge problem, which Spekit is built for.
Versus the alternatives
Seismic (now including Highspot) is the market leader, with about 2,500 customers and 3.5 million users after the merger. Pick it for inside-sales, CRM-resident motions, content automation at scale, and the deepest buyer-engagement tracking. Pick Showpad when field reps present offline and the combined Seismic is a larger integration risk than you want. If Highspot works for you today, a 12-month renewal buys time to watch both roadmaps.
Mindtickle is the largest independent enablement vendor. Pick it when the problem is skill (roleplay, certification, coaching) and content is secondary. Pick Showpad when field content delivery matters more than skill scoring.
Allego is the independent built around video coaching. Pick it when reps learn by recording and reviewing pitches and you want a coaching-first vendor that is not mid-merger.
GTM Buddy is the fastest-growing AI-first entrant, on an $8 million Series A from April 2024. Pick it for lightweight just-in-time content surfacing if a small vendor clears your procurement review. It has no offline field story comparable to Showpad’s.
If none of them fit, check whether anyone owns enablement. A platform distributes battlecards and a ramp plan; it does not write them.
Watch-outs
- Two product lines are still being merged, and there is no public roadmap for Bigtincan’s modules. Neither the close announcement nor the Summer ‘26 release says which Bigtincan capabilities survive. Guard: ask which of your modules run on the Showpad codebase today, name them in a continuity clause, and cap the term at 12 to 24 months.
- The features in the pitch sit in the top tiers. Roleplay AI and sales-engagement integrations start at Advanced; custom agents and the Field Seller Agent are Expert only. Guard: have the quote list every feature by tier, and price the deal on the tier you will run, not the demo.
- The MCP launch names Agentforce, Copilot and Glean, not Claude, and does not call it GA. Guard: if agent access is part of the business case, connect your own client in the trial tenant and run a real content query before you sign.
- Offline content on iOS only syncs when iOS allows it. When the app is closed, iOS decides whether downloads happen, so a rep can arrive at a customer site with stale files. The older Windows Legacy app has been retired in favor of the Windows Desktop app. Guard: enable “Always Download All Files” by device policy and add an open-the-app sync to the pre-visit checklist.
- Content migration is the most common complaint in reviews. Guard: migrate only assets opened or shared in the past 12 months, and archive the rest in place before cutover.
