What it is

Allego is a revenue enablement suite that started as video coaching. It launched in 2013 as an iPad app where reps recorded pitches and managers and peers reviewed them, and it still leads with that motion: AI roleplay, video practice and coaching, then learning programs, a sales content library, conversation intelligence, and Digital Sales Rooms. Its closest peer is Mindtickle, which also began in training rather than content. The conversation-intelligence module came from Refract, a UK company Allego acquired on 2020-12-09.

Allego is private, headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, and run by co-founder and CEO Yuchun Lee, who previously co-founded Unica (sold to IBM). Gartner named it a Leader in the first Magic Quadrant for Revenue Enablement Platforms (published 2025-11-10), and the companion Critical Capabilities report ranked it first for two use cases: Onboarding & Continuous Learning (4.41/5) and Direct B2B Selling (4.44/5). Named customers include Stryker, Baxter, Goldman Sachs, GE Healthcare and ZoomInfo.

The current release is Allego 9, announced 2026-05-05 and generally available in June 2026. It added AI Deal Alerts, Deal Expert and Call Expert chat, SmartDocs document generation, an AI mobile note taker and call capture for regulated industries, and the Allego MCP API Server.

The question this page answers: the two largest enablement vendors are now one company. Seismic and Highspot closed their merger on 2026-08-18, and Showpad absorbed Bigtincan in 2025. Which full-suite vendors are still independent? Allego and Mindtickle, and Allego is the one to pick when coaching through recorded practice is your core problem.

Why it shows up in RevOps stacks

  • It is the independent full suite. No ownership change through September 2026, while Seismic, Highspot, Showpad and Bigtincan consolidated into two companies in twelve months.
  • Video practice is the native unit. Reps record a pitch, get AI and manager feedback, and share “what good looks like” clips with peers. If asynchronous practice is how you coach, that origin shows in the product.
  • Every AI feature is in the base price. Allego’s pricing page says it includes all AI capabilities at no extra cost. Mindtickle, by contrast, sells Call AI and Digital Sales Rooms as priced add-ons.
  • It plugs into the rep’s day. Native embedding in Salesforce, plus HubSpot and Dynamics 365, Outreach, Salesloft and Clari, Zoom, Teams, Webex and major contact-center dialers. Allego claims 120+ integrations.

Pricing reality

No list prices. Allego charges per user per month, billed annually upfront. The standard term is three years, with one- and two-year options; the price per seat moves with seat count and term length. Channel-partner and non-revenue seats get lower pricing, and a “Buyout Program” helps customers exit a competitor’s contract.

Vendr’s buyer data shows a median annual contract of $49,600 and a range of $27,925 to $116,675. Vendr does not disclose how many purchases that median rests on, so treat it as indicative. For comparison, Vendr puts the medians at about $44,400 for Mindtickle, $34,900 for Showpad, $32,000 for Seismic and $60,400 for Highspot. Allego is not the cheap option. Because AI is included, the gap to Mindtickle narrows once you price in Mindtickle’s modules.

Best for

Enablement leaders at companies with roughly 100 to 5,000 customer-facing reps in regulated or high-consideration sales, such as financial services, insurance and medical devices, where reps must practice and certify on messaging before they say it to a customer. Allego’s own customer claims cluster there: five of the 15 largest US banks and four of the five largest medical-device companies.

Not for you if you have under about 50 reps and one sales manager: a weekly call-review hour costs less than a three-year enablement contract. Also skip it if your core problem is content governance across many business units. That is Seismic’s home ground.

Versus the alternatives

  • Seismic (including Highspot) leads on market share, with 2,500 customers after the merger. Pick it for content automation and brand control at scale. Pick Allego when coaching matters more than content and you don’t want to renew into a product consolidation.
  • Mindtickle is the other large independent vendor. Pick it for a single readiness score that ties certification, roleplay and call scoring to CRM outcomes. Pick Allego for video-first peer coaching and all-inclusive AI pricing. See Mindtickle.
  • Showpad is the pick when field reps present offline from a heavy content library. It is ten months into its own merger with Bigtincan.
  • Hyperbound is the fastest-growing entrant, AI roleplay only, backed by a $15 million Series A in September 2025. Pick it when practice is the whole problem and you want it live in weeks without a suite contract. See Hyperbound.

If none fits, check who owns enablement. A platform runs practice; it does not write the talk track or the battlecards.

Watch-outs

  • Independence is the pitch, and it is not guaranteed. Allego has disclosed no funding since 2020, and it is one of the last independent suites in a consolidating category. The standard contract is three years. Guard: negotiate a change-of-control clause that lets you exit or re-price if Allego is acquired, or take the two-year term.
  • The MCP server names Salesforce Einstein, Microsoft Copilot and self-hosted copilots, not Claude. Guard: if agent access is in the business case, connect your own client in a trial tenant and run a real content and call query before you sign.
  • Gong is not on the integrations list. If Gong already records your calls, Allego’s conversation intelligence becomes a second recorder. Guard: buy the learning and roleplay packages without the conversation-intelligence bundle, or get a written answer on how Gong recordings reach Allego coaching.
  • Reviewers keep raising search, video uploads and admin setup. Search slows in large libraries and call archives, uploads are tedious, and admins describe a steep learning curve. Guard: pilot with your real library size, not the demo tenant, and name a platform admin before signing.
  • Recorded practice and calls are personal data. Guard: confirm recording consent for every country you sell into, set retention periods in the DPA, and keep AI coaching scores out of compensation decisions until HR and legal approve.
