What it is
Jobvite is the upper-mid-market ATS inside Employ Inc.’s three-ATS portfolio: JazzHR for SMB, Lever for high-growth tech, Jobvite for organizations in the 500-5,000 employee band running corporate and high-volume hiring side by side. Founded in 2006, taken private by K1 Investment Management, and folded into Employ alongside JazzHR and NXTThing RPO, with Lever joining in August 2022.
That parentage is the load-bearing fact on this page. You are not buying from an independent vendor — you are buying one SKU from a PE-backed portfolio that sells three overlapping ATSs and allocates one shared AI program across all of them. Employ named Jerry Jao CEO in February 2026.
The product spans applicant tracking, recruiting marketing (career site, Source & CRM, job broadcast, candidate messaging), advanced employee referrals, internal mobility, onboarding, and analytics. Each is licensed as a separate module.
Why it shows up in recruiting stacks
- Referral and recruiting-marketing depth on one contract. Jobvite began as a social-referral product, and the referral workflow — multi-touch nurture, referrer attribution, leaderboards — still goes further than what Greenhouse or Ashby ship natively. Teams where referrals are a top-two source of hire otherwise buy that capability as a second tool.
- The Employ AI Companions. AI Interview Companion — the Pillar product Employ acquired and rebranded — is generally available in Jobvite: intake and interview guides, talk-time and sentiment tracking, biased-language flagging, side-by-side candidate comparison, and auto-summarized interviews written back to the record. AI Screening Companion, announced 2025-11-13, shipped across all three Employ ATSs in the 2026-02-10 release: continuous candidate-to-role matching, alerts on candidates at risk of disengaging, and automated personalized feedback to rejected applicants.
- Bias monitoring built on IBM watsonx.governance. Employ’s Responsible AI framework, built with IBM watsonx.governance, produces independent bias auditing and an explainability record behind each AI recommendation. Very few ATSs in this price band ship auditable AI decision logs at all.
- Mature HRIS connectors. The Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, and Oracle HCM integrations are long-lived rather than newly written, which lowers the integration risk that stalls ATS cutovers past 1,000 headcount.
Pricing
Quote-only, and verified unchanged on 2026-09-05. The pricing page publishes no rates — “Your hiring isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your pricing shouldn’t be either.” — and routes to a quote form. The number is shaped by headcount, hiring volume, recruiter seats, and which modules you enable.
Real-world bands below come from procurement-data aggregators, not the vendor. Treat them as budgeting estimates, not quotes:
- Under roughly 250 employees: about $4,800-10,000/year for core ATS, with a tracked average near $10,200.
- 250-1,000 employees: about $15,000-20,000/year before add-ons.
- 1,000+ employees: from about $60,000/year, with tracked averages near $127,000 for full module stacks.
- Implementation: $1,000-10,000 one-time, and 60-120 days to go live.
- Renewal uplift commonly runs 5-10% per year.
Onboarding, AI Companion, video interviewing, and text recruiting are separate lines. Budget the AI module on its own — the base ATS quote does not carry it.
Best for
Talent acquisition leaders at 500-5,000-employee organizations running corporate and hourly/high-volume requisitions in the same system, where employee referrals are a top-two source of hire and an existing Workday or SuccessFactors deployment stays the HR system of record. In that band the module bundle costs less than assembling a newer ATS plus a separate recruiting-marketing and referral tool.
Versus the alternatives
- Greenhouse — pick it when structured-interview discipline and hiring analytics are the buying criteria and demand generation is not. Greenhouse wins on process rigor and marketplace breadth; Jobvite wins when filling the top of the funnel is the constraint.
- iCIMS — pick it above roughly 5,000 employees, or with multi-country works councils, where configuration and governance depth outrank time-to-value.
- Ashby — the fastest-growing entrant in this segment. Pick it when hiring is corporate knowledge-worker, analytics-first reporting is the point, and you would rather buy AI from a vendor building one product than one allocating across three.
- SmartRecruiters — pick it for global enterprise hiring with heavier localization requirements.
- Lever — Employ’s own alternative, and the same rep may pitch both. The split: Lever under 1,000 headcount for CRM-led high-growth hiring, Jobvite for larger and more operationally complex.
Do not buy Jobvite under roughly 250 employees. Workable or JazzHR cost a fraction, and you will pay for recruiting-marketing modules you never turn on.
Watch-outs
- AI ships to the portfolio, not to Jobvite specifically. The Companions are Employ-level programs. The 2026-02-10 release put the AI Interview Companion dashboard and its expansion to 17 languages into Lever, while Jobvite got hiring forecasting, Onboarding SSO, and onboarding role-access management. Guard: get GA dates for each named Companion capability in Jobvite written into the order form, not “available on the Employ platform.”
- The base quote understates the deployed cost. AI Companion, Onboarding, video, and text recruiting are separate modules, so the ATS line is rarely what you end up paying. Guard: price the three-year total with every module you expect to enable by year two, and cap the renewal uplift at signature — 5-10% a year compounds against a five-figure base.
- Bias-audit artifacts are evidence, not compliance. The watsonx.governance-backed logs are something you can hand an auditor; jurisdictions that regulate automated employment decision tools place the audit obligation on the employer, not the vendor. Guard: confirm with counsel what your jurisdiction requires, and get the audit-log export format in writing before your program depends on it.
- Three overlapping ATSs under PE ownership tend to consolidate. Employ has run JazzHR, Lever, and Jobvite in parallel since 2022, and installed a new CEO in February 2026 — the profile where product lines get merged or retired. Guard: negotiate a data-export clause covering full candidate records and interview artifacts in a neutral format, and re-check the roadmap at every renewal.
- The interface reads a generation older than AI-native competitors, which surfaces as recruiter-adoption drag rather than missing features. Guard: pilot for two weeks with your three least patient recruiters before signing, not after.
