What it is
Loxo sells an ATS, a recruiting CRM, and its own sourcing database as a single seat, aimed at staffing firms, executive search, and agency recruiting teams. The Denver company closed a $115M growth investment led by Tritium Partners on 20 February 2025 (PR Newswire) and has since rebuilt the product around agents — the site now leads with “AI-native is table stakes. The Talent Intelligence Platform now comes with an agentic workforce.” It is still independent.
The closest product in scope is Bullhorn: the same ATS-plus-CRM footprint for agencies. The difference is where the candidate data comes from. Bullhorn expects you to bring it or buy it from a partner; Loxo bundles a proprietary 850M-profile graph into the same seat you use to track the requisition.
Why it shows up in recruiting stacks
- Sourcing and the system of record are one contract. Loxo Source queries the 850M+ graph and your own private database in a single motion. An agency running Bullhorn plus a separate sourcing tool signs two contracts and reconciles two candidate sets; the Loxo Professional seat is one of each.
- MCP sits on the entry tier, not behind Enterprise. “The Loxo MCP” is listed under Core at $149/user/month, so a recruiter can drive Loxo from Claude or another MCP client without buying the top plan or the API. Neither Bullhorn nor Recruiterflow ships an MCP server as of September 2026.
- The agents are scoped to recruiting work rather than to a chat box. Three Data Agents maintain records under every entry; Longlist and Shortlist agents run searches; separate agents handle candidate submittals, job descriptions, interview notes, and contact lookup. Every action they take is logged in an Agent Impact Center — which is the thing you need when the entity that emailed a candidate was not a person.
Pricing reality
Published at loxo.co/pricing as of 8 September 2026. Annual terms only, paid up front:
- Core — $149/user/month. ATS and recruiting CRM, natural-language AI search, unlimited jobs, candidates and companies, pipelines and reporting, email and calendar sync, Chrome extension, MCP. Free migration at 3+ seats. No API, no Loxo Source, no agents, no credits.
- Professional — $199/user/month. Everything in Core plus Loxo Source on the 850M+ graph, the full agent set on every seat, Full Agentic Mode, the Agent Impact Center, AI Chat grounded in your own records, contact information with every shortlist, API access, and 2,500 credits per seat per month pooled across the team.
- Enterprise — custom annual. SSO/SAML and advanced roles and permissions included rather than charged as add-ons, dedicated success team, forward-deployed engineers.
- Boost raises the credit allowance to 5,000 (2×) or 12,500 (5×) per seat per month, resizable per seat. No published price on any Boost tier.
Two gaps sit between that rate card and the invoice. Core and Professional both carry a “New customer limited time offer” flag on the page, which makes $149/$199 an acquisition rate rather than a renewal rate — and multiple Capterra reviewers report an automatic annual escalator near 5% written into their contracts. Get year-two and year-three pricing in the paper before signing. Separately, third-party pricing trackers published in the first week of September 2026 still describe the ladder Loxo ran before this one — a free single-user tier, Basic at $169 annual and $209 monthly — and put negotiated Professional deals in the $250-400/user/month range. The free tier is gone from the live page. Treat $199 as the floor for a first-year agency deal, not the expected price.
Ten Professional seats at list is $23,880 a year before any Boost credits. Ten Bullhorn seats run $34,000-$46,100 in year one per third-party TCO trackers, and Bullhorn publishes no price for any tier that includes AI.
Best for
Agency, staffing, and executive-search recruiters in the 3-50 seat band who want the sourcing database and the ATS on one contract, and who will run the agents rather than buy the capability and use the platform as a filing cabinet. The Professional seat only clears its $50/month premium over Core if the 2,500 monthly credits get consumed — they do not roll over.
Not for corporate TA teams. If you hire into your own company, the requisition-approval, structured-interview and offer-workflow depth in Greenhouse or Ashby is the thing you actually need, and Loxo’s agency-shaped pipeline of clients, submittals and placements is overhead you will fight every week. Loxo also has no back office — pay-and-bill, timesheets and contractor invoicing are outside the product — so temp and contract staffing operations need a second system at any seat count.
Versus the alternatives
- Bullhorn is the installed-base leader in staffing and the answer above roughly 200 seats, or wherever a multi-vertical operation needs the 350+ partner marketplace and the separately licensed middle office. Pick it when integration breadth and back-office coverage outweigh AI. Its cheapest published tier, Starter at $99/user/month, contains no AI at all, and the agentic tier is quote-only.
- Recruiterflow publishes the same $149/user/month headline and is the real fight for outbound-heavy boutiques. It splits its agents into a quote-only AIRA plan, so the AI you would be comparing against Loxo’s $199 carries no published number. Pick Recruiterflow when you want monthly billing — Loxo is annual and prepaid — or when the work is outbound sequencing more than database search.
- Juicebox or hireEZ when search recall is the whole job and you are not replacing your ATS. Loxo’s advantage is the single seat, not per-query recall; bought purely as a sourcing tool it charges you for an ATS you will not use.
Watch-outs
- Credits meter exactly the part you are buying. Agent runs, outreach and AI Chat all draw from the same pool, and the pool resets monthly with no carryover. Guard: run the 7-day Professional trial against a live requisition and count the credits one full-market search actually consumes before you size seats — the page states that all capacity figures shown on it are “figurative.”
- Core is not the AI plan. At $149 you get the ATS, CRM and MCP, but no Loxo Source, no agents and no API. Guard: if the agentic workforce is why you are buying, price the deal at $199 from the first conversation; a Core contract signed on the assumption that agents are included turns into a mid-term upgrade negotiated from the weaker side of the table.
- Annual prepay is the only term. There is no monthly option, so a 10-seat firm commits $23,880 up front. Guard: negotiate a seat-reduction clause at renewal rather than a discount — agency headcount moves with the desk, and the cost of over-buying seats survives the whole term.
- Published comparisons of Loxo are stale by weeks. The tier ladder changed recently enough that pricing roundups dated 4 September 2026 still list a free plan and a $169 Basic tier that the live page no longer sells. Guard: quote from loxo.co/pricing directly in any internal business case, and date the screenshot.
- The sourcing graph is the switching cost. Contact data, shortlists and agent history accumulate inside Loxo Source rather than in your own records. Guard: export candidate and contact records to a neutral format quarterly through the Professional-tier API, so leaving costs a migration rather than a rebuild.
