What it is
Prospeo is a B2B contact database and enrichment API built around one job: returning a work email or a mobile number that will actually connect. You can search it directly (people and company search with up to 41 filters, intent topics, AI Search and AI Lookalikes), reveal contacts from a Chrome extension on LinkedIn profiles and company websites, or send it a CSV, a CRM, or an API call and get the contact fields back. The vendor claims 280M leads and companies, 143M verified emails, 98% accuracy, a 30% pickup rate on mobiles, and a full data refresh every 7 days. It reports 40,000 users.
What it is not: a sales-engagement platform. There are no sequences, no dialer, and no inbox. It is also a single source, not a waterfall. When Prospeo has no email for a contact, nothing else is queried behind it.
Why it shows up in RevOps stacks
- Cheapest credits in its peer set. One credit buys a verified email, 10 credits buy a mobile, and 1 credit exports a full company record. Search and preview are free, and people exports charge only when an email is found. On the Growth plan billed annually, that works out to about $0.015 per email and $0.15 per mobile.
- A fresh database. The 7-day refresh is the main reason outbound teams switch. Job changes and dead mailboxes surface in days, not quarters, which is what keeps bounce rates low on lists built weeks ago.
- CRM sync without an enterprise contract. Growth adds native HubSpot and Salesforce sync, CRM enrichment, and job-change tracking. Every paid plan connects to Clay, Zapier, Outreach, and Lemlist.
- API and MCP. The public API starts on Starter at 5 enrichment requests per second (30 on Pro). An official MCP server (
@prospeo/prospeo-mcp-server, run with your API key) lets Claude and other clients search people and companies, enrich records, and check the remaining credit balance as tool calls.
Pricing
Checked 2026-09-29 on prospeo.io/pricing. All paid plans are priced per user.
- Free — $0, 100 credits per month, 28 filters, Chrome extension, AI Search. No CSV enrichment and no API.
- Starter — $49 per user per month (2,000 credits a month), or $441 per user per year ($37 a month) with 24,000 credits delivered upfront. Adds CSV and API enrichment and basic integrations.
- Growth — $99 per user per month (5,000 credits), or $888 per user per year ($74 a month) with 60,000 credits. Adds HubSpot and Salesforce sync, CRM enrichment, and job-change tracking.
- Pro — $249 per user per month (15,000 credits), or $2,241 per user per year ($187 a month) with 180,000 credits, all 41 filters, and the highest API limits.
- Credit add-ons start at 1,000 credits for $10, and a yearly credits add-on is sold through sales.
- What it costs in practice. An SDR who reveals 150 emails and 25 mobiles each working day uses about 400 credits a day, or roughly 100,000 a year. Growth’s 60,000 does not cover that, but Growth annual plus 40,000 add-on credits is about $1,290 a year, well under Pro’s $2,241. Most outbound seats land between $900 and $1,300 a year. Compared per phone number, Prospeo’s $0.15 is about a fifth of Lusha’s roughly $0.76 on its Professional annual plan.
Best for
- SDR and outbound leads at teams of 1-20 reps, and outbound agencies running lists for several clients, who want verified emails and mobiles at the lowest per-contact cost
- RevOps teams that want a weekly-refreshed source to enrich HubSpot or Salesforce records without a ZoomInfo contract
- Builders pulling contact data into their own enrichment jobs or agents through the API or MCP
- Not for teams that want one seat to cover finding, sequencing, and calling (use Apollo); not for enterprise account planning that needs org charts and third-party intent at depth (use ZoomInfo); not as the only source for European mobile numbers on a phone-first motion (use Cognism)
Alternatives — and when to pick them instead
- ZoomInfo — the category’s share leader, with the deepest database, intent, and org charts, on custom multi-year contracts. Pick ZoomInfo when targeting and account intelligence are the job. Pick Prospeo when the job is verified contact data at a published price.
- Apollo — the other share leader, bundling a 230M-contact database with sequences and a dialer from $49 per seat per month annual (30,000 credits per seat per year, a phone at 8 credits). Per credit it is close to Prospeo; the difference is data freshness against the bundle. Pick Apollo when one tool has to find, contact, and call. Pick Prospeo when Apollo lists bounce too often in your segment.
- Clay — the fastest-growing platform here (Sacra estimates $150M ARR in May 2026; a $115M Series D at a $7.1B valuation on 2026-09-09). Clay orchestrates many providers, and Prospeo is one of them. Pick Clay when you want provider order, fallback, and logic under your control. Pick Prospeo directly when one good source is enough and you don’t want Clay’s credit layer on top.
- Lusha — the other simple freemium database for small teams. Pick Lusha when reps already work from its browser extension and your list is North America-heavy. Pick Prospeo when cost per mobile matters: Lusha charges about five times as much.
- FullEnrich — a packaged waterfall across 20+ providers, charging only for hits. Pick FullEnrich for the contacts Prospeo misses, since one source can’t find what it doesn’t have.
Watch-outs
- Credits reset at renewal. Unused credits never roll over, and annual plans deliver the full year upfront and reset on the renewal date. Guard: run the first two months on monthly billing, measure actual burn, then buy annual sized to that number, and top up with $10-per-1,000 add-ons rather than upgrading a tier.
- Mobiles drain the balance. One mobile costs as much as 10 emails. A September 2026 third-party review measured mobile coverage of 874 per 1,000 US contacts but 768 per 1,000 in the EU. Guard: reveal mobiles only for the accounts someone will dial this quarter, and filter on mobile availability before spending credits.
- Most of the accuracy “tests” online are Prospeo’s own. The vendor publishes a large library of competitor comparison pages, and independent results vary widely: one March 2026 test found valid emails for 34 of 50 lookups (68%), while the September review saw about 8 in 10 on Nordic mid-market profiles. Guard: run 200 of your own contacts through Prospeo and one competitor, then compare bounce rates after the first send, not the tools’ own verification labels.
- CRM sync starts at Growth. Starter connects only through Clay, Zapier, Outreach, Lemlist, and CSV. Guard: if HubSpot or Salesforce write-back is the reason you are buying, budget Growth for every seat that needs it, and keep enrichment-only users on Starter.
