What it is
Screenloop is a London-built interview intelligence product that grew an applicant tracking system around itself. It started in 2021 recording and transcribing interviews and turning them into scorecard notes; it now sells an ATS as the front door, with interview intelligence, a candidate-sentiment survey (Pulse), automated references, background checks through Certn, interviewer training and hiring analytics attached. The vendor’s pitch is “replace 8+ tools,” and its site states that buying the ATS brings the rest of the platform “at no extra cost.”
On 15 January 2026 it was acquired by Equitas, a UK and Ireland interview-intelligence vendor that sells into large, high-volume employers. Screenloop’s announcement says the brand, product and team are unchanged and that it keeps operating under its own name “for the foreseeable future.” It is still sold standalone, which is why this page carries vendor_status: acquired rather than a sunset notice.
Why it shows up in Recruiting stacks
- Interview capture inside the ATS, not bolted on. The Interview Sidekick opens next to Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams through a Chrome extension, timestamps notes and reactions against the recording, then produces AI summaries, auto-detected Q&A, scorecard attributes, key-moment clips and action items. Transcription covers French, German and 35+ other languages.
- It also runs as a layer on someone else’s ATS. The help centre documents connectors for Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Teamtailor and Pinpoint, plus HRIS handoff to Personio, HiBob, BambooHR, Factorial, Humaans and Zelt. Teams can start with interview intelligence on Greenhouse and move the ATS later.
- A documented REST API.
https://api.screenloop.com/exposes applications, candidates, jobs, interviews, interview kits, scorecard templates and offers, with Swagger docs and a 6-requests-per-second limit. There is no MCP server, so Claude reaches it only through custom code. - EU-first compliance defaults. SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR processor terms, SAML SSO with Okta or Azure AD, and an admin setting that anonymises candidate data automatically after 3, 6, 12 or 24 months.
Pricing
Screenloop publishes no rate card; every plan goes through a demo. Aggregator listings contradict each other — Capterra and GetApp show “from $500 flat per year,” SpotSaaS shows $500 per month — so neither is a usable anchor.
The one transaction benchmark is thin: Vendr reports a median buyer paying $4,500 a year, with observed deals between $4,500 and $4,740. That narrow range signals very few data points and almost certainly small teams. Equitas, the new parent, lists its own interview software on the UK G-Cloud 14 framework at £6,000 per licence per year, which is the more useful ceiling for an enterprise conversation.
Set those numbers against the peers. Metaview Pro is $100 per user per month, so four recruiters cost $4,800 a year for sourcing alone. BrightHire’s Vendr median is $18,000. Ashby Foundations runs $270–810 a month for companies under 100 employees. A Screenloop deal around $5,000 that covers both ATS and interview recording is the cheapest bundle in this set — provided the quote matches the median at your headcount.
Best for
UK and EU in-house TA teams at companies of 50–500 employees, with 1–5 recruiters, currently paying separately for an ATS, an interview notetaker and a reference-check tool. Concretely: a Head of Talent at a Series B company on Personio or HiBob who wants one GDPR-reviewed vendor for the funnel from application to signed offer.
Not for you if you hire high-volume hourly roles, need agentic sourcing, or want Claude to query interview data through an MCP connector out of the box.
Versus the alternatives
- BrightHire — the interview-intelligence share leader, Zoom-owned since December 2025, median $18,000 a year. Pick it when you are a US enterprise on Greenhouse or Workday and interview quality is the single problem you are funding.
- Metaview — the fastest-growing entrant, now pitched as a sourcing-agent platform with an MCP server and roughly 40 ATS integrations. Pick it when you want an AI layer on the ATS you already have and sourcing is part of the job.
- Greenhouse — the incumbent ATS, with an AI Notetaker included in the Core plan; Vendr median $26,587 a year. Pick it when you need deep reporting, a large integration marketplace and a vendor whose roadmap is not under new ownership.
- Teamtailor — the Stockholm-built ATS common in EU SMBs, priced on job slots at roughly $250–2,000 a month. Pick it when employer branding and career pages matter more than interview capture.
Watch-outs
- New owner, unwritten roadmap. “For the foreseeable future” is not a contractual commitment, and Equitas sells to a different segment — large, high-volume employers. Guard: write a change-of-control clause and a full data-export right (recordings, transcripts, scorecards) into any contract longer than 12 months.
- The quote is opaque, and the bundle is the selling point. If interview intelligence, references or background checks are priced as add-ons, the “no extra cost” claim collapses. Guard: get one written quote that lists every module you plan to use, at your headcount, before the pilot starts.
- Recording consent is your job. Screenloop’s own guidance says EEA candidates must acknowledge recording, and 12 US states require all-party consent. Guard: put a written consent line in the calendar-invite template and turn on a verbal notice script for every interviewer before the first recorded call.
- Retention anonymisation skips open applications. Data is anonymised only once all of a candidate’s applications are rejected, so stale pipelines keep personal data past the window. Guard: run a monthly sweep that closes inactive applications older than your retention period.
- API keys grant full ATS access. There are no scoped keys, and the limit is 6 requests per second. Guard: issue one key per integration, store it in a secrets manager, rotate it quarterly, and batch BI pulls overnight.
- Greenhouse connections moved to Harvest v3. From 31 August 2026 the Greenhouse connector requires OAuth credentials; the old API-key path is retired. Guard: if you run Screenloop on Greenhouse, confirm the connection was migrated and that scorecards still sync on a live req.
