What it is
Walnut is an interactive demo platform built for sales teams rather than website visitors. You capture your product as HTML or video, edit the captured data so a prospect sees their own logo, numbers, and use case, and send it as a guided demo, a sandbox, a playlist of demos, or a deal room. Founded in 2020 and headquartered in New York, it has raised $56M, most recently a $35M Series B led by Felicis in January 2022, and says it serves hundreds of B2B software companies. It holds 4.5/5 on G2 across 151 reviews and is SOC 2 Type II certified.
On 2026-09-02 Walnut shipped what it calls an enterprise agent platform: Walnut Xpert, a buyer-facing agent that answers questions and steers the prospect through the demo; AI Mode for Playlists and Deal Rooms, which builds a personalized buyer experience from one prompt; and AI Center, an admin layer that sets permissions and guardrails on how AI is used across the workspace.
Why it shows up in RevOps stacks
- Per-prospect demos without an SE rebuilding the environment. Walnut lets reps change text, logos, charts, and figures in a captured demo so it matches the account. AI Mode generates that personalization from a prompt. Walnut says building a playlist or deal room used to take an AE or CSM about three hours per deal.
- Deal rooms that carry the demo. A deal room combines demos, content, and stakeholder activity in one link. If you already run a sales room in Trumpet or Dock, Trumpet ships a native Walnut integration; Walnut’s own Digital Sales Rooms are an add-on on Accelerate and included on Scale.
- Demo engagement inside Salesforce. The advanced Salesforce integration, from Accelerate up, lets reps launch demos from the record and see deal analytics and custom Walnut reports there. HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, and Zapier are on every plan.
- Read-only analytics in an AI assistant. Walnut’s help center documents an MCP server that wraps its Customer Data API and lets Claude, Cursor, or VS Code query demo sessions, totals, and top demos. It reads analytics only; it does not build or publish demos. The Data API sits on the Scale plan.
Pricing
Walnut publishes list prices, unlike Navattic. There is no free plan and no self-serve trial.
- Ignite — $575/month billed annually ($6,900 a year). 3 editor and 3 presenter seats, 50,000 AI credits a year, unlimited demos, AI Mode for demos, playlists, analytics, HubSpot and basic Salesforce. Sandbox demos, SSO, and Xpert are add-ons.
- Accelerate — $1,550/month billed annually ($18,600 a year). 6 editor and 6 presenter seats, 100,000 AI credits, sandbox demos, prospect personalization, video overlays, AI avatars, SSO, the advanced Salesforce integration, a dedicated CSM, and 10 onboarding hours. Deal rooms and Xpert are add-ons.
- Scale — custom. 200,000 AI credits, Digital Sales Rooms, translation into 243 languages, the Data API, and bring-your-own-key for AI models.
- AI credits are metered. Top-up packs run $1,000 for 50,000 credits ($0.020 each) down to $0.015 each above 200,000.
- What teams pay. Vendr puts the median Walnut contract at $17,000 a year across 36 purchases, in a $7,900 to $36,700 range, with buyers reporting 10-25% off list. The median lands just under Accelerate list, which matches the usual buying pattern: teams that need advanced Salesforce and sandboxes skip Ignite.
Best for
- Sales and presales leaders at B2B SaaS companies selling five- and six-figure deals, where AEs and SEs send a personalized demo or deal room to a buying committee after the first call
- RevOps teams that want demo engagement reported against Salesforce opportunities and are budgeting $15,000-$20,000 a year for it
- Not for PLG teams whose job is a website “take a tour” button at the lowest cost, and not for a seed-stage company that needs a free or $100-a-month entry plan
Alternatives — and when to pick them instead
- Storylane — the broadest independent rival, with screenshot, video, and HTML capture, sandbox and presenter demos, and RepX, an AI SDR. Paid plans start at $40/month billed annually, but Salesforce waits for Premium at $1,200/month. Pick Storylane when marketing and sales share one demo library and you want a cheaper start.
- Navattic — HTML-only website demos with Salesforce on its 5-seat Base plan, last published at $500/month, and a Vendr median of $8,500 a year, half of Walnut’s. Pick Navattic when the demo lives on the website and feeds lead routing.
- Supademo — the fastest-growing entrant, ranked by G2 among its fastest-growing products, with its own AI Demo Agent since June 2026. HTML demos start on its Growth plan at $350/month for 5 creators. Pick Supademo when price per creator decides it and deep CRM reporting does not.
- Consensus — presales video and interactive demos with stakeholder-level analytics for buying committees. Salesforce, Gong, and Outreach arrive on Pro at $1,250/month for 10 users. Pick Consensus when the problem is mapping who on the committee watched what, rather than editing demo data per prospect.
Watch-outs
- The cheap plan is not the plan you will run. Ignite has basic Salesforce and puts sandbox demos and SSO behind add-ons, and Vendr’s $17,000 median sits close to Accelerate list. Guard: price Accelerate (or Ignite plus every add-on you need) before the first call, and bring a Storylane or Navattic quote to get into Vendr’s 10-25% discount band.
- AI credits are a second meter. Personalization, Xpert, and AI Mode draw on a pooled annual allowance, and top-ups cost $0.015-$0.020 per credit. Guard: ask Walnut for credit consumption per AI Mode run and per Xpert session, and cap top-up spend in the order form.
- Captures drift from the live product. An edited capture shows your UI as it was on capture day, and data edits multiply the number of demo versions to maintain. Guard: keep one master demo per use case, personalize from it rather than re-capturing, and re-check every master after each major UI release.
- The agent layer is weeks old. Xpert, AI Mode for Playlists and Deal Rooms, and AI Center shipped on 2026-09-02, and Walnut’s only result so far is its own claim that Xpert sessions more than double buyer time spent. Guard: pilot Xpert on one segment, measure stage conversion against reps sending standard demos, and set AI Center permissions before any rep can generate buyer-facing content.
